Starting today, 16 October, Dr. Georgi Deyanov is appointed executive director of Executive Agency “Medical Supervision”.
Dr. Deyanov is a graduate of the Medical Academy in Sofia. He specialised in ENT care. In 2020 he received a graduate degree in health management from the Medical University, Sofia.
In 1989–91 he worked in the municipal hospital in the town of Elena. In 1991–93 he worked as a physician in the Student Polyclinic in Sofia. In 1993–2001 he was a physician in the Tsaritsa Yoanna Hospital in Sofia.
In 2001 Dr. Deyanov took charge of the Donation Department in the National Transplantation Management Centre which later became the Executive Transplantation Agency (ETA). For six years, between 2004 and 2010, he headed the directorate responsible for donation and transplantation process coordination in ETA.
Until 2013, he was head of the Medical Centre in the National Heart Hospital. Until 2015, he served as chief inspector in the Executive Agency “Medical Audit”. He spent almost three years at the Children’s Treatment Fund Centre, being in charge of it for a year and a half. Dr. Deyanov’s latest position was team head at the National Council for Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products.
The minister of health’s decision to appoint Dr. Georgi Deyanov director of EAMS is informed by Dr. Deyanov’s extensive work in the field of donation and transplantation and by his professional experience as an inspector in Executive Agency “Medical Audit”.
