Dr. Georgi Hristov is the new Director of the Executive Agency ‚Medical Supervision
Dr. Georgi Hristov has been appointed as Executive Director of the Executive Agency “Medical Supervision” on 25 May 2021.
Dr. Hristov graduated from the Higher Medical Academy – Sofia. He has a specialization in surgery. He graduated also with specialty Health Management.
He worked as a district General Practitioner from 1988 to 1991 in the villages of Gavril Genovo – Montana region and Ovcha Mogila – Svishtov Municipality. From 1991 to 1994 he worked at the Center for Emergency Treatment – Sofia. From 1995 to 2000 he worked in the surgical office of the 3rd City Hospital (currently – National Center for Cardiology). For the next two years – from 2000 to 2002 he was a General Practitioner.
Since 2003 he has been in performing control of out-patient and in-patient medical care in Sofia Health Insurance Fund. Between 2005 and 2012 he worked on negotiation, methodology and control of in-patient medical care in the National Health Insurance Fund. Since 2012 he worked in the administration of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Since 2015 he started working in the “Control of Medical Activities and Quality Assessment” Directorate in the Executive Agency “Medical Audit”. Most recently, Dr. Hristov worked in the “Methodology of Medical Activities and Dental Activities’ Directorate in the National Health Insurance Fund.
