Rosen Ivanov to Attend Opening of Fountain Monument Dedicated to Organ Donation
The executive director of the Executive Agency “Medical Supervision” Mr. Rosen Ivanov will be attending in his official capacity at the opening of a fountain monument inscribed with the words “Gift of Life” and dedicated to organ donation. The event will take place on 9 November at 2 p.m., in the Sveta Gora public park in Veliko Tarnovo.
The fountain was constructed at the initiative of the Patients with Respiratory Failure and Lung Transplantation Association with funds donated by three Parliamentary working groups from the 44th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Among those invited to the opening ceremony were members of parliament from the 44th NA, representatives of the Ministry of Health and the local authorities and leading Bulgarian transplantation experts.
Thanks to the efforts of donation coordinators from the Multi-Profile District Hospital for Active Treatment Dr. Stefan Cherkezov AD in Veliko Tarnovo, the city ranks first in Bulgaria by number of donations in 2019.
Through the “Gift of Life” campaign, the Patients with Respiratory Failure and Lung Transplantation Association intends to have fountain monuments installed in many Bulgarian cities, drawing the public’s attention to the issues of people in need of transplantation.
